Mike lees’ design is particularly impressive for a theatre as small as the Southwark playhouse

The set and props have this cheap , almost dirty but obviously perfect style…in short it looks exactly as a troma production should look!

A pure visual delight of trashy b-movie costumes and references

Theatre passion

In the designs, Mike Lee's nuclear waste barrels adorn the stage and bubble nasty-looking green gloop while Nic Farman's lighting bathes everything in a sickly bright purple and green sheen. There's a lovely scrappy sense about the whole thing.

Whats on stage

Mike Lees’ ingenious composite set consists of towering vats of ominously glowing waste beneath a familiar Manhattan skyline. His B-movie prosthetics are complemented by lightening-fast changes of  costumes
